• Measurements of the object on which the arrangement is going to be placed, or, respectively, the wall space available. (Particularly crucial for mantle shelves)

• Measurements of the space surrounding the arrangement, i.e. the height between a table top and the chandelier or the space from the mantle shelf to the mirror over it on the wall.

• Color theme of the surrounding space (wall paper snippets, color swatches, fabric samples and/or a photo of the room including floor rug or tiled floor)
