Galilee Paperwhites
Paper White Narcissus (short stem)

- Grasmere bulb kits
Galilee Paperwhites bear pure white blooms with a lighter, musky
scent on stems 12-14 inches tall.
The
Grasmere bulb kit has been assembled with dry soil, grass seeds
and paperwhite bulbs. At this stage, you may say, the
paperwhites are dormant and may stay so until you wish the plant
to grow. In other words, if you do not wish to begin the growing process just yet, do not
water the bulbs. Water the bulbs only if you wish to
begin the paperwhites to grow and bloom.
The average time it takes paperwhites to bloom indoors is
between 18 to 25 days. Time will vary according to temperature
and light. Paperwhite Narcissus’ like good daylight, but don't
want to be in the direct sunlight. Temperatures between 60-65
degrees are ideal, but usually our homes are much warmer. If
possible, place the growing bulbs in a cool room at night.
A warm, sunny site will force plants to bloom quickly. A cooler
space will slow the growing process down a bit. For stronger
plants, place your newly planted paper whites somewhere cool and
dark for a week immediately after planting to give them a little
extra rooting time before growing.
Once the growing process has begun, never let bulbs dry out.
This will cause the stems to go limp. Keep the plant evenly
moist.
Turn the pot occasionally to keep bulbs from leaning in one
direction.
When grown warm, these bulbs tend to be taller and weaker,
sometimes leaning over. Continue to provide water as needed
until the bulbs have finished blooming.
Unfortunately, paper
white bulbs cannot be saved for another season of bloom, so you
can dispose of them once they are not longer blooming or
attractive.
